HORDE OF HEL is a non-political band, but we'll still hail the tyrants of the old political world [because] of their cause to bring humans to their knees!" BAHIMIRON UPDATE (NEW ALBUM REVIEW IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS)

BAHIMIRON drummer Blaash offers the following update: “[Newly released album] Southern Nihilizm is spreading like AIDS in Africa thanks to the MORIBUND propaganda campaign, causing general ill and discomfort, or so some of the reviews have stated. We just played our first live show in two years with Inquisition, Nokturne, and others in Los Angeles. This was the first show that Grimlord was free to spend his entire assault on vokills, and it showed in the raw energy put out. We are hoping to support HORNA in November in Texas to some capacity; we are still working out the details. Our split with Unchrist is due later this year or early next year, on Graveless Slumber Records. Pictures, vids, and reviews have been updated on the www.myspace.com/bahimiron and www.bahimiron.com sites.”

FROM RUSSIA WITH "AMOR"

From The Associated Press:

MOSCOW (Sept. 22) -- A Russian navy squadron set off for Venezuela Monday, an official said, in a deployment of Russian military power to the Western Hemisphere unprecedented since the Cold War.

The Kremlin recently has moved to intensify contacts with Venezuela, Cuba and other Latin American nations amid increasingly strained relations with Washington after last month's war between Russia and Georgia. During the Cold War, Latin America became an ideological battleground between the Soviet Union and the United States.

Russian navy spokesman Igor Dygalo said the nuclear-powered Peter the Great cruiser accompanied by three other ships sailed from the Northern Fleet's base of Severomorsk on Monday. The ships will cover about 15,000 nautical miles to conduct joint maneuvers with the Venezuelan navy, he told The Associated Press.

The deployment follows a weeklong visit to Venezuela by a pair of Russian strategic bombers and comes as Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez — an unbridled critic of U.S. foreign policy who has close ties with Moscow — plans to visit Moscow this week. It will be Chavez's second trip to Russia in about two months.

The intensifying contacts with Venezuela appear to be a response to the U.S. dispatch of warships to deliver aid to Georgia which angered the Kremlin.

Chavez said in an interview with Russian television broadcast Sunday that Latin America needs a strong friendship with Russia to help reduce U.S. influence and keep peace in the region. In separate comments on his Sunday TV and radio program, he joked that he will be making his international tour to Russia and other countries this week aboard the "super-bombers that Medvedev loaned me," a reference to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. "Gentlemen of the CIA, to be clear, I'm joking," Chavez said with a laugh.

Chavez has repeatedly warned that the U.S. Navy poses a threat to Venezuela.

Russia has signed weapons contracts worth more than $4 billion with Venezuela since 2005 to supply fighter jets, helicopters, and 100,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles. Chavez's government is in talks to buy Russian submarines, air defense systems and armored vehicles and more Sukhoi fighter jets.

Russian and Venezuelan leaders also have talked about boosting cooperation in the energy sphere to create what Chavez has called "a new strategic energy alliance."

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, who visited Venezuela last week, announced that five of Russia's biggest oil companies are looking to form a consortium to increase Latin American operations and to build a $6.5 billion refinery to process Venezuela's tar-like heavy crude. Such an investment could help Venezuela, the world's ninth-biggest oil producer, wean itself from the U.S. refineries on which it depends to process much of its crude.

Sechin warned the United States that it should not view Latin America as its own backyard. "It would be wrong to talk about one nation having exclusive rights to this zone," he said in an interview broadcast Sunday.

WAS JUST WONDERING ABOUT THESE GUYS.

The Executioners have returned! Reactivated and armed with a ferocious new album Blood Money, Guillotine sets the benchmark of intense Thrash Metal to deadly new heights; essential melodic hooks with just the right amount brewed into perfection to split your skull into pieces!

Featuring Nils Eriksson and Fredrik Mannberg from the mighty Nocturnal Rites and together in collaboration with the master of Thrash Metal artist Ed Repka (Megadeth, Atheist, Death, Venom, etc), Guillotine will crush all competitors in the genre and emerge as the reigning kings of Thrash Metaldom!

Mixed at Toontrack Studio by Mattias Eklund (Nocturnal Rites, Naglfar, etc) and mastered by Goran Finnberg at The Mastering Room (Soilwork, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, etc), Blood Money will be released by Pulverised Records October 27, 2008.

Promos will be available soon; all promo requests for North America, get in touch with Earsplit...

"Guillotine is no trendy retro-thrash concoction;
Blood Money is aggressive, catchy and full of heart." - Metal Maniacs

'They might have left us 10 years ago with a retro classic but in 2008, Guillotine is a
meaner, faster and far more vicious thrashing bloodthirsty machine
ready to chop your head off!' - Terrorizer Magazine

Band Biography:

1995/1996 - Fredrik Mannberg and Nils Eriksson are hard at work with their main-band NOCTURNAL RITES, but felt that they need a melodic contrary and an outlet for something that reminds them of the early thrash bands they grew up with. HOLOCAUST is thus born as a two-piece project that however shortly grows into something more serious and ambitious. The band name is changed to GUILLOTINE and quickly a demo recording established ("Under the Guillotine", 1995). The demo receives rave reviews in the Thrash community and the band soon inks their first record deal, recruit drummer extraordinaire Cobra and starts working on material for what will come to be their debut album.

1997 - To large praise of the underground thrash scene and magazines alike, GUILLOTINE's debut album "Under the Guillotine" is released in the first quarter of 1997. Although this happened when the retro Thrash revival is at its peak and the scene is flooded with bands and projects, GUILLOTINE manages to secure a top position and "Under the Guillotine" is still to this day considered a classic second wave Thrash Metal release of the 1990's.

1998 - The main focus of Fredrik Mannberg and Nils Eriksson is devoted to NOCTURNAL RITES and any GUILLOTINE’s eventual plans for touring and further releases are indefinitely put on ice.

2007 - After a ten-tear break, the monster lives and the urge to produce killer Thrash Metal songs is back again! This time to stay, as it seems. The band recruits two new members, Daniel Sundbom (Guitars), Efraim Juntunen (Drums) and lays down two brand new tracks ("War", "Blood Money") for a demo and the intention of landing a record deal for their second - or comeback if you will - album. In early 2008, the band ultimately signs with Pulverised Records and begin work on what will become "Blood Money" (2008).

2008 - Present day. GUILLOTINE has finished recording for "Blood Money" and are awaiting it to be unleashed upon an anxious Thrash community. The band is here to stay. No project or second try - the real thing; only pure, simple and to-the-point Thrash Metal. In the rawest and most pissed off form there is.

THEY SHALL PART THE RED SEA.

Interviews with Holy Moses' vocalist Sabina Classen - supporting their new album Agony of Death - are being scheduled for this Thursday from 12:00 noon - 5:30 PM EST. Interested parties should get phone info and requested times to Earsplit right away for scheduling.

As far as Sabina Classen is concerned, the title of the new Holy Moses album says it all. Agony of Death is the medical term for the death struggle and is also the common denominator of the recording’s lyrics. Musically, Agony of Death features a stylistic review of Holy Moses classics such as Finished with the Dogs (1987) and The New Machine of Liechtenstein (1989), blended with more contemporary influences, complexity and diversity than any previous Holy Moses recording.
More than its predecessors, every single note on Agony of Death gives the listener the feeling that this album is a true band project. Returning to the fold, Atomic Steif (drums) along with Thomas Neitsch (bass), Oliver Jaath (guitar), Sabina Classen (vocals), and guitarist/composer & producer Michael Hankel. This collection of talents have created an album which combines maturity and complexity in equal measure. This album is red-hot thrash metal with Sabina Classen on top of her game bringing her trademark aggression, expression, power, technique, and even the occasional melody. Classen speaks about the recording process: "For the first time in the history of Holy Moses, I had almost six months to record my vocals. This allowed me to work according to my current mood, and the result ranges from hysterical screeches to deep growls."
Agony of Death will be available in a lavish Digipak edition with fold-out cover including 12 songs plus all intros and outros in conceptual order. Look for Holy Moses on the road in North America in 2009.

HORNADOG

The title, artwork and full tracklisting of HORNA's forthcoming seventh album are finally disclosed. On "Sanojesi Äärelle", the abyssic ones have conceived a dual tribute to the energies that stimulate them – one side worshipping Satanic darkness, one praising Luciferian light. 14 hymns of instinctive Black Metal that materialise as the absolute epitome of Finnish filth!

Tracklisting is as follows:

Disc I : 1. Muinaisten Alttarilta, 2. Verilehto, 3. Mustan Kirkkauden Sarastus, 4. Katseet, 5. Askeesi, 6. Sanojesi Äärelle, 7. Orjaroihu, 8. Risti Ja Ruoska, 9. Wikinger, 10. Merkuriana

OH ABIGAIL!

Abigail Williams will appear as direct support to The Faceless begining October 17. The tour will precede the October 28 release date of In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns, the band's eagerly anticipated full-length debut album.
Produced by James Murphy and featuring contributions from Trym Torson (Emperor/Zyklon), In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns features nine new songs from the band currently featuring keyboardist Ellyllon, bassist Plaguehammer, guitarists Mike Wilson and Bjornthor, drummer Samus with band founder/vocalist Sorceron.
"We couldn't be happier with the results," says vocalist Sorceron in review of the record. "The addition of Trym's legendary drumming and the experience on the production/mixing end that James brought to us has been priceless. This album wholly eclipses everything we've recorded in the past and we can't wait to begin playing the new material live."
Abigail Williams have been a focus of attention for both fans and critics since their formation in Phoenix, Arizona several years back. Kerrang! says, "Abigail Williams have taken fresh-faced metal down the left hand path... the result is obscenely exciting." Blabbermouth adds, "Legend lays a firm foundation for greatness to come." The band have toured the US and Europe several times in the last 18 months and were hand-picked to open for Emperor at their sold-out performance in Los Angeles (House of Blues) in July of 2006. With over 15,000 units sold of the band's 2007 ep, Legend, all eyes and ears are awaiting the first sounds of the new material.
